David Russell Strathairn is an actor from the United States.In the ’80s and ’90s, David Strathairn rose to popularity in films directed by fellow Williams College alumni John Sayles. These films were ‘The Brother From Another Planet’, ‘Matewan’, ‘City Of Hope’, ‘Eight Men Out’, ‘Return Of The Secaucus 7’, and ‘Limbo’.For his portrayal of journalist Edward R. Murrow in ‘Good Night, And Good Luck’, David Strathairn got an Academy Award nomination in 2005. In the 2007 film ‘The Bourne Ultimatum’, he played CIA Deputy Director Noah Vosen, a position he returned to in 2012’s ‘The Bourne Legacy’. In 2011-2012, he starred as Dr. Lee Rosen on Syfy’s ‘Alphas’ and on Steven Spielberg’s ‘Lincoln’ as Secretary of State William H. Seward (2012).For his role in the TV film ‘Temple Grandin’, Strathairn was nominated for an Emmy and a Golden Globe.
