On stage, the band was often accompanied by guest musicians such as Eric Burdon. In 1971, Bob Tench left The Gass and became a member of The Jeff Beck Group. Robert Tench joined as a new vocalist for the album ‘Rough and Ready’ after one of the vocalists had left the band. In January 1972, The Jeff Beck Group recorded the album ‘Jeff Beck Group’ and in the same year, the band was officially disbanded.During the summer of 1972, while Bob Tench was collaborating with other musicians in the US, he was called upon by Jeff Beck to replace the lead vocalist who had left the band.
