In 1986, the band rebranded themselves as Pestilence, after playing covers of heavy metal bands, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, and Venom.The band, Pestilence, disbanded a year later in 1987, and Andreas Kisser joined Sepultura. His career at Sepultura began when he had to replace their guitarist Max Cavalera and stand in for him as an ad-hoc roadie. Shortly after, he successfully auditioned for the post of lead guitarist and made his debut with the band at Caruaru, Pernambuco.Andreas Kisser played with Sepultura during the Maquinária Festival in São Paulo and helped the band promote their second album, ‘Schizophrenia’.
